The story and craft behind Comfrey Salve

Slow-made in the heart of Ohio, our salve begins with a 6-week solar infusion. We soak organic comfrey and calendula in organic olive oil, allowing the gentle warmth of the sun to extract the plants' most potent healing compounds without the damaging high heat of industrial processing. The result is a deep, herb-rich oil that carries the true essence and strength of the plants. We not only use this salve on ourselves but our animals also. We started making this for our goats originally. We had a goat with a torn muscle and knew this was a must have item on our farm. Comfrey was traditionally used to ease minor aches. 

Great for cuts, scrapes, bruises and more. Herbal salves are a must have for the natural medicine cabinet. We put the dry herbs in jars with olive oil.  We place our oil and botanicals in a sunny window seal or outside, shake once or twice a day for 6 weeks until it's ready to strain in cheesecloth. From there we are able to create a soothing salve.

Beeswax protects your skin and adds a protective barrier. Comfrey is an herb known to promote new skin growth. Calendula helps relieve skin inflammation. Tea tree oil helps treat skin with its anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. Lavender essential oil helps soothing for cuts and bruises.
