Farm life is never dull, especially when you have curious little explorers running around. This morning, we experienced one of those heart-stopping moments that reminds us why we love—and sometimes worry about—our animals.

Our two-week-old baby goat woke up with what we can only describe as a serious case of wanderlust. While we were busy with morning chores, this tiny adventurer decided the grass on the other side of the road looked far more interesting than staying safely in the pasture. Before we knew it, our little escape artist had followed the chickens right across the road, completely unbothered by the fact that he was venturing into unknown territory.

Our wonderful neighbor spotted the little explorer and recognized him right away. A quick phone call brought us running, and we were able to scoop him up and bring him back home safe and sound.

It's moments like these that remind us how much we depend on our community here on the farm. Our neighbor's quick thinking and kindness turned what could have been a disaster into just another story we'll be telling for years to come. And our brave little goat? He's back where he belongs, probably already plotting his next great escape.
