There's something special about rainy days on the farm. While the weather keeps us indoors, it creates a rhythm that feels different from our usual routine—quieter, more intentional, and honestly, a little bit restorative.

When the rain starts, the first thing on my mind is making sure everyone is comfortable. The goats head straight to the barn, where they settle in with fresh hay. There's something peaceful about watching them contentedly munch away, knowing they're warm and dry.

The chickens, meanwhile, seem to embrace the change in scenery. Instead of their usual outdoor pecking, they entertain themselves in the barn, scratching through the hay like it's the most exciting thing they've discovered all week. Their constant little sounds keep the space feeling alive, even on the quietest days.

A Slower Rhythm to Farm Life

But rainy days aren't just about the animals—they’re a gift for us too.

There’s also time to read, the kind where you can actually sit still long enough to get lost in a book. And the simple satisfaction of catching up on housework without feeling rushed or pulled in five different directions.
